In large-size warehouses, forklifts are usually used to place goods on pallets, then onto racks, which is most common mode for warehousing. Below, I will introduce three types of heavy-duty racks for you.

Heavy-duty pallet racking

Cross-beam racks perform well in terms of load-bearing capacity. Unlike light or medium-duty racks, beam-type racks eliminate the need for shelves and directly adopt beams to carry heavy goods, where pallets are an important carrying tool. The pallets can be wooden, plastic or steel pallets. Using a forklift to place products on those beams. This type of racks is more suitable for storing heavy items such as industrial equipment or spare parts.

The load-bearing capacity of single-layer beam is usually between 800kg to 3000kg. The height of uprights is usually between 3-12 meters, and the common lengths of beams are 1.5 meters, 1.8 meters, 2 meters, 2.5 meters, 3 meters or other specifications.

Radio shuttle racking

Shuttle racks are high-density storage equipment composed of three-dimensional racks, lifters and shuttle cars. Shuttle racking system also require pallets as storage tool. When putting goods, lifting machine places goods,which are on pallets, at the front of guide rail, and the shuttle car can complete loading and unloading of products through radio remote control. When picking up goods, the shuttle transports materials deep in end of lane to front side, and then workers can use a forklift to unload that pallet.

Drive-in racks

Drive-in racking system eliminates the passage between racks and increases storage density. For storing single type of goods, pallets can be continuously used, the number of which can be designed according to conditions of the warehouse and the storage requirements for goods.
