What Types of Racks Are Used in Cold Chain Warehouses?

Heavy duty pallet racks

Heavy duty pallet racking is common storage equipment in the field of heavy-duty warehousing. It has become the first choice for many large warehouses due to its excellent carrying capacity, high space utilization, stable structure and character of easy for management.

The height of this racking can reach 16 meters, and the load-bearing capacity of each tier is usually 800kg-3000kg, which can meet most of the storage needs.

              Heavy duty pallet racks

It has a simple structure that the overall structure is assembled from uprights and cross beams. One set of upright frame is made up of uprights, horizontal braces, and diagonal braces connected by bolts, and are fixed with safety pins. No welding is required during the installation process.

Goods are usually placed on pallets, which are then transported by forklifts to be placed on beams. Pallets are usually made of wood or metal.

Racking for normal temperature warehouse are made of Q235B steel; in low-temperature cold storage, Q355 steel.


Drive-in racking

This type of storage racks are commonly used in large and medium-sized cold warehouses. Drive-in racks eliminate the passages between rows of racks, put racking together, and have a corridor-type structure with continuous storage space, which can make full use of storage space.

Drive-in racks are also called drive-through racks or corridor racks. They are suitable for storing single type of goods in large quantities. Compared with pallet racks, its utilization rate of warehouse space can be increased by more than 30%. The forklift enters the interior of the shelving system to get goods. Picking up goods from one side no more than 8 pallets, and the wall area is generally within depth of 5 pallets. Each pallet can bear 500-2000KG products.

           

Pallets are stored on support rails one after another. Goods are took out from the same side of racking, depositing first and withdrawing last; depositing first and withdrawing last.

Compared with beam-type racks, drive-in racking should not be too high, generally within 10m, and a tightening device is required.


Four-way shuttle racking

Radio shuttle racking integrates intelligent control, automatic transportation, and minimal human participation. It is a product of combination of traditional racks and modern control equipment.

                 

The four-way radio shuttle car can automatically pick up goods, automatically change lanes and floors, and transport goods to any direction according to needs. At the same time, the four-way shuttle is equipped with a power monitoring device and can realize automatic charging.

This type of racking can be used in densely stored raw material warehouses, semi-finished product warehouses, and finished product warehouses.
